Bio

Kaitlyn Sibre is a Chicago-based flutist, teacher, and flute repair technician. She has performed with the New World Symphony as a substitute musician and appeared with local ensembles including Symphony 847, Lake Shore Symphony Orchestra, World Ballet, the Chicago Wind Symphony, and Kokandy musical theatre productions at the Chopin Theatre. Kaitlyn holds a Master of Music in Flute Performance from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Music from Temple University. Her principal teachers include Stefan Hoskuldsson (Berlin Philharmonic and Chicago Symphony), Patrick Williams (Philadelphia Orchestra), and Adeline Tomasone.

In addition to her freelance performance work, Kaitlyn specializes in professional flute repair at Flute Asylum, where she began training under Tom Peterson in 2021. She services handmade, intermediate, and student instruments, with experience in both synthetic pads like Straubinger and traditional felt pads. Her dual background in performance and repair informs a thoughtful, player-focused approach to every instrument she works with.
